The APEC Marine Sustainable Development Center is the first marine cooperation mechanism established by China under the APEC framework, aiming at implementing the APEC Leaders' Declaration and the action plan in the marine field and promoting the sustainable development of APEC marine economy. On November 1, 2011, the APEC Marine Sustainable Development Center was officially inaugurated in Beijing. Li Keqiang, then member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, sent a congratulatory letter.
